job description - Electronics Technician
The incumbent will be responsible for the fault finding and repairing of all plant related electrical equipment. Duties will include the following:
- Repairing of all electronic and electronic related equipment
- Repairing of scales, cables, computers, and all PLC's
- Fault finding, repairing, and programming electronic variable speed and Thyristor controlled drives
- Fault finding and repairs on all PLC's and related equipment
- Completing and documenting Weekly Planned Maintenance Schedules
- Projects: Assisting with new installations, improvements, and modifications
- Standing-in for fitter (basic mechanical skills needed)
- Perform any other related duties in the interest of BASF SA as instructed
What We Expect
- National Diploma (N6) in Electronics or equivalent qualification
- Trade Test - Electronics or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Must have formal PLC training, preferably in Siemens
