job description - Branch Sales Manager
- The successful incumbent will be accountable for the profitability of the branch, encompassing sales, cost control, and the smooth operational functioning. Ensures a customer focused business environment, taking BASF’s business interests into account and ensures bottom up budget planning and self-monitoring in line with relevant Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and regional strategies.
Duties will include the following:
- Manage the Sales Team by monitoring the weekly activities and advise monthly sales target
- Allocate customers effectively among sales team members
- Manage team call rates based on customer segmentation
- Follow up on price modifications, review and approve quotations
- Ensure customer rebates and discounts align with the Standard Pricing Matrix
- Ensure that weekly/monthly reports are submitted into the GPS tool by sales team
- Liaise with Commercial Manager regarding market trends
- Review overdue debtors monthly with the credit controller and team members
- Manage the acquisition pipeline for new customers
- Compile and record customer investments
- Visit customers to address grievances and ensure courteous and efficient service
- Keep the Sales Team and Technicians informed of new products/technologies
- Monitor ROI and adhere to the company's investment procedures
- Ensure Compliance and adherence with all BASF guidelines and procedures
- Conduct weekly meetings to communicate changes, discuss customer analysis, check on turnover progress and plan the week ahead
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to review portfolios and provide guidance as needed
What we expect
- Tertiary qualification in the Business Management/Sales or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role coupled with managing a mid-size team
- Technical experience in coating industry will be plus
- Good market knowledge of the industry would be beneficial
- Extensive knowledge of the latest refinish technology
- Understanding and recognition of the technical requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computer Skills are essential, SAP knowledge will be an advantage
